Photo Post

Okay so i haven't really scraped yet...... I have started slowly but surely, but now I'm left with a few unfinished layout, that will just join the other pile of unfinished layouts. You know, the ones that are missing "something" or need something specific that you need to buy or that looked great in your minds eye when you planned it, but not so great on paper. Please tell me I'm not the only one that have so many uncompleted layouts that i could easily fill an album!
So in my attempt to be a better blogger I'm posting some photographs that I have taken lately.

I Love dandelions and i have always hoped to one of those big ones you see in Photos. I must admit I was so tempted to blow it and make a wish, but I just couldn't!

And lastly A rainy Sunday afternoon spent playing Paintball of all thing! The Photo was taken at Greystone Camp, 13km outside of Estcourt, Kwazulu-Natal. Over looking the Wagon Drift Dam.
Thank you for stopping by!

Bad Blogger

I have been such a bad blogger I know….
But sometimes life just gets crazy and you get busy and over whelmed. I have just felt drained lately, in all aspects of my live and especially creatively.
And I have felt so guilty for not bloggin, because I just knew this was going to happen, but how do you bog if you haven’t done anything creative lately? If you haven’t even been inspired to try, well that’s not entirely true. I would read blog post and browse on pintrest and see all these wonderful creations and feel inspired until I got to my craft desk, I just couldn’t going. Sad since playing with all my lovely supplies is what really relaxes me.
The very generous blog candy I won from Paola really did the trick, I couldn’t wait to unpack and start to play! PS I’m now hooked on Stickles and seriously contemplating getting more copics : ). So that is just what I did, sat at my desk and just started to play around, not creating layouts or anything, just playing, trying new techniques .

I do intent to start blogging again and KEEPING IT UP, this time round. I even gave my little blog a make over to inspire me. A big Thank you to all my followers for not abandoning me!

Have a great day!

Happy Mail

I just love receiving mail, this started at a very young age. My grandmother you to send as cards and letters all the time. Whether its surprise mail, something I know is coming or even bills at the end of the month, i dont mind just as long as im getting mail!
So on Saturday I was super excited to collect 2 packages from the post office

I ordered stamps from Cariena at the scrapbook studio here and Shamela from Kanje Kraft’s here

I just love these lost and found stamps from my minds eye and I really battled to find the last two sets, luckily cariena was at my rescue.
Do your self a favor and check out the beautiful stamps that Shamela is selling.
I got great service from both these ladies.
I do most of my scrapbook shopping online as we don’t even have a craft store where I live let alone a scrapbook store. The closest one is 70 kilometers away from here.

I also found these pins and thread at the local material shop for unbelievable prices. The pins where R9.50 and the thread R8 for all of them. I’m not sure how I will use it yet, but I will find a way lol.

I also found these wire baskets to organize some of my stash.

Yeah for me i finally figured out how to do a nice and proper link! Next up a nice signature. Slowly but surely I'm getting the hang of blogging... one of these days i might actually think of myself as a true blogger!

Happy Valentines day, hope you all where spoiled rotten. '

Scrapping goals for 2011

For the last two years I haven’t made any new years resolutions, I don’t stick to any of them and then I feel horribly let down in myself.
The Last year and a half I have been really focused on my Personal life and career and scrapping took a back seat, I slowly started to scrap again in about August / September 2010. I really enjoy scrapping and it relaxes me and just makes me feel so good to create. It really is like therapy. I really want to grow within my scrapbooking so this year most of my goals are Scrap related.
1) Start a blog - Check

2) I want to try new styles and techniques.
I really don’t understand why I’m sometimes scared to try new things, so what if it doesn’t look good, try again or just don’t use that style or technique.

3)I want try and journal on my pages. Even if the journaling is hidden.
I am not a great writer and my spelling sucks, but what I love most about other peoples scrapbooks are the stories, yet it’s the one thing I don’t do in my own scrapbooks. A while back some one was throwing away old albums, own was a leather bound album with black pages and photo corners, the pictures inside was that of a family member that was a nurse and went to work in Egypt. Beautiful black and white photos and on nearly every page she wrote names of the places in the photos or a little bit more of the people in the photos. That made me realizes that if someone paged through my scrapbook, what they would know about me and the story I’m trying to tell.

4) I want to play more.
I’m always so worried if something looks right. If I follow everyone else and don’t do what I want to I’m never going to find my own unique scrapping style.

5) I want to be published in one of our local magazines.
But before I attempted that I want to work on the previous goals.

6) I not going to buy beautiful scrapping supplies and save them for the right photo.
Its scrapbooking, making layouts not collecting beautiful supplies, I recently started to use some of my stash that I bought when I started, because I saved it or was too scared to use it because I was still a beginner.

7) I want to MAKE time to scrap, by waiting for free time I hardly scrap.

8) If I start a layout I must finish it!

9)Work on my scrap space.
At the moment I have miss match furniture and things all over the place. So I want to re furbish the furniture and finish off the room and try to keep is clean.

What are your goals for 2011?

Great local scrapping news

Local manufacturer Fabscraps are going to CHA! Not only is that exciting because they are a South African company but hey are situated right here in KwaZulu- Natal.
I love their papers and they have a wide variety of products.

Paper Lane http://www.paperlane.co.za/ is having a design team call, first entries must be submitted before the 31 of January. I can’t wait to see what the ladies come up with.

These Local girls are rockin it! Guess where they are from, yip KwaZulu –Natal! They have a blog called Scrap(a)Tale http://scrapatale.blogspot.com/ and if you work the blog scene you will recognize them from bogs like imaginisce. Check out their kit club. http://leshabbycafe.blogspot.com/p/contact-us.html

Blog debut

If you have stumbled across my blog, WELCOME! Please be patient and bare with me while I try and get this blog into shape, pretty please :).
I have been playing with the idea to start a blog for a while now and finally took the first step..... Helen Tilbury http://helentilbury.blogspot.com thank you, in your email you said you should start a blog, and that made me decide to get the folder named blog ideas out of the folder and into a blog. however I thought I would start off being well prepared: ideas on what I would blog about, have techniques ready etc, but was unprepared for how long it would take to actually getting my blog to look okay. I’m learning each step of the way, but hopefully everything will soon be sorted out.
My aim for my creative escape is to give future followers something interesting to look read and look at, while we all admire each others talent and exchange knowledge. I want to readers to come back and not be disappointed.
Thank you for stopping by and taking time to read my blog post
